Purpose: This website is designed to showcase a fallen hero, Wilbert L. Gray. Gray was a soldier in Normandy during Operation Cobra and died during the fighting to secure Allied control of France. France had previously been a major Axis stronghold, a key part of Hitler's "Atlantic Fortress." Gray's sacrifice contributed to the proliferation of freedom not only for his constituents at home, but for the entirety of Europe and its peoples as the Allies liberated them from the crushing yoke of the Nazis.
